Indian commercial vehicle market leaders TATA Motors said that they have been evolving the their medium & heavy trucks as smart trucks over a period of time and they will power all future launches with this new technology called the ‘Telematics’.

"We have already rolled out some of the vehicles using ‘Telematics’ and going forward all our medium-heavy trucks will be powered by it," said the company's business head of intermediate, medium and heavy trucks, Rajesh Kaul. The company has decided to make this technology available free of cost to the buyers & even gone a step ahead in waiving off the subscription charges for the first three years of purchase.

Telematics technology deals with long distance transmission of computerized information. It connects the electric control unit of the vehicle which will help the fleet owners not only to track their vehicles but also to get real time information about fuel consumption & mileage.

Supro Van and Supro Truck launched by Mahindra

There is no doubt that renowned automotive giant Mahindra is doing great when it comes to entry-level commercial vehicle segment in India. Recently, Mahindra has launched its all new Supro platform in the type of mini truck and a van. The 8 seater Supro Van is a spacious diesel mover, best for tour and travel operators as well as for large families in India. While, on the other hand, the Supro Maxitruck, , is a load carrier vehicle holding a payload capacity of 1 ton suitable for transportation of goods in intra and intercity.

Supro Maxi Truck

The newly launched Maxi Truck is powered by a 909 cc Turbocharged diesel engine which producing 45 HP / 98 Nm, followed by a 5-speed manual transmission. Maxi Truck has a maximum speed of 95 km/h and manages 22.4 km/l. The truck is available for the customers in 3 colors - Metallic Red, Diamond White and Deep Warm Blue.

The Maxi truck has made up for 1,000 kg payload capacity and also has a 41 sq.ft. Cargo box to carry the goods with care, It has beige interiors with black inserts. Supro Van

Supro van is an 8-seater van which is backed up by the same 909 cc turbocharged diesel engine which being use in the Supro Maxi Truck. Although its top speed remains the same at 95 km/h, it's claimed as more fuel efficient than the Supro Maxi Truck at 23.5 km/l.
