Telematics technology deals with long distance transmission of computerized information. It connects the electric control unit of the vehicle which will help the fleet owners not only to track their vehicles but also to get real time information about fuel consumption & mileage.
The technology is coming pre-installed in all latest TATA trucks & is also available as an accessory to buyers at a price of Rs. 10,000. TATA will be charging a fee of Rs. 5,500 per year as subscription users as there is data transmission and processing that is involved in the process besides constant use of the global positioning system technology.
